Scenes from Galway to Londonderry

Top photo:  on our hike in Connemara National Park.  Connemara is home to the breed of pony and to houses with thatched roofs.  I did not get a picture of either----darn!

Second photo:  downtown Galway City.

Third Photo:  I'm falling in love with Gaelic----am figuring out that adjectives go after nouns.  I hear it's a difficult language; nonetheless, it's beautiful.  Picture taken near a castle we visited yesteday. It was closed but its geocache was outside the gate underneath an "ancient yew" tree.

All other photos were taken at the abbey, which, of course, had its "sheep yard art."  This sheep was alive, well, and grazing.

An absolutely beautiful place, very worthy of its title of Western Ireland's biggest attraction.  I thought of Bill during our visit because his close friend St. Carol Ann is of the Dominican Order at St. Gertrude's Monastery at Cottonwood, Idaho.

Bill loves visiting Sr. Carol Ann and the monastery.  I think he'd highly approve of Ireland's abbey.
